Claire from One Fine Day went above and beyond our expectations. I first met Claire at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange when I ordered my tiara and when she asked if I wanted it marked for delivery or collection I chose collection so I could have a peek at the shop! My partner and I went out to One Fine Day and were greeted with a warm welcome. A cake hadn't been a top choice of ours and we were maybe going to opt for a chocolate fountain however when we saw what Claire had to offer and how she could tie it in with our theme we were delighted! So needless to say the cake was ordered. With the choice of accessories (Bride and Bridesmaid), Table Plans etc I only wish I had found Claire earlier. Moving onto the actual day she arrived exactly when she said she would (even though there is quite a bit of travel between her shop and our venue) and she offered to set the cake up or show someone how this could be done. I didn't get the chance to thank Claire on the day as I was out at the hairdressers so I feel this is a good oportunity to thank Claire for all her efforts in making our day run smoother! "We were married in June and asked One Fine Day to supply our Wedding Cake, design and make hairpieces and apply wedding day makeup for the bridal party. What we received was SUPERB service, attention to detail, and Claire's personal attention. "I would happily recommend Claire's wedding services to every bride. I initially approached Claire to design and make our wedding cake, and to do the make up for the bridal party. I quickly realised that she was able to do far more than that as well. As well as giving us lots of advice on planning for the big day, Claire helped us find a great photographer, and sorted out our favours too (delicious squares of traditional Scottish tablet). This really helped us out as although I am from Callander, I live in London, so everything had to be planned on very short visits and by phone.
I felt Claire really understood the look that I wanted for the cake, and she did a fabulous job - it was more beautiful than I could have hoped for. She prepared different colour samples for the sugar roses, and was able to find the exact shade of pink that I was looking for. She also took time to talk through the style of make up that I was looking for. We looked at pictures of my dress together, and the colour of the bridesmaids' dresses and flowers. Mum, Gran and I all had a make up trial with Claire, which was really useful. Claire really knew what we wanted - a soft and feminine, yet glamorous look.
On the day, amid all the other things on my mind, I knew that I wouldn't have to think about the make up or the cake - Claire took care of everything: myself, Mum, Gran and four bridesmaids. She was even able to put my veil in properly (the hairdresser had shown me how earlier, but I couldn't work it out!) After the wedding ceremony, when we came in to the dining room with our guests for our wedding breakfast, the cake was set up just as we had wanted.
I honestly don't know what we'd have done without her! Such happy memories! And looking back I really DON'T know how we'd have done it - or for that matter how you managed to do everything you did on our wedding day, Claire thank you!"
